10k Run
A step up from the 5k and a proper taste of Deeside terrain. A front-loaded climb to earn the views, then a fast descent onto flowing gravel by the River Dee. Out for the distance and the day, not the clock.
Fast. Scenic. Rewarding.
10km of forest track and gravel, climbing hard early before the reward: a quick descent and flowing riverside trails to the finish. Far enough to feel like an achievement, friendly enough to enjoy the whole way round. The distance for seeing more of Royal Deeside in a morning.

Take On The 10km
Take on the 10km and take in more of the landscape. Strong support on course, three feed stations, and the festival waiting at the finish.
Course & Terrain
A Proper Deeside Challenge
10K
180m
Starting on Dee Street, the first 1km rolls out on traffic-free tarmac before the gravel begins to climb towards Scolty Woodland car park. The work has its rewards straight away: big open views across Scolty Hill and out over the River Dee as you go up. A stretch of rolling gravel offers some reprieve before a punchy climb to the first feed station, refreshments waiting.
With 180m of climbing front-loaded into the first half, pacing is key. Take the climbs easy, because the second half pays you back: a fast descent towards the Dee and the flowing Deeside gravel trails, with feed stations at 6.7km and 8.2km to keep you going.
1km from the finish, the Red Bull Flying KM is your chance to grab some bragging rights, before you turn back across the Dee, along traffic-free Dee Street and into the finish in King George V Park.
Like all off-road courses, the route runs slightly over the advertised distance, so expect a little more than 10km on the day. Check out the full course map below.
